EATING VEGETABLES IS A LEARNED HABIT AND HABITS ARE HARD TO CHANGE!!! LAY THE FOUNDATION YOUNG AND WATCH IT GROW LIKE A GARDEN.
A quote fromSally Kuzemchak, RD
SURVEY SAYS: Up to 1/3 of children eat no vegetables at all. This is one scary fact.
Our bodies need nutrients and vitamins from earth foods. Fruits and Vegetables are the key components of these. When we fill our bodies with foods that have no nutritional value, we are like too full to consume those that provide us with disease fighting nutrients. Start with your colors (and I don’t mean fruit loops) when your kids are hungry. Always encourage eating the food itself. If your child is opposed to that, move to a smoothie or a fresh juice packed with these . Add a bit of yogurt , banana, to get the right amount of thickness your child prefers. Add in spinach with a few blueberries and they will never know. Also, yellow squash and zucchini has virtually no taste. Start small and move up.
TRY THIS!
Blend the smoothie. Pop in the freezer for 5 minutes then scoop into an ice cream cone. Whatever works. Remember, we eat to stay healthy , strong and energetic. Start with the good, then move on. Always make it positive . Never force your children to eat. Encourage them to try and that it takes most kids 10 times to accept a food. Try inviting a friend to try together. There is power in group adventure. Have you ever heard about your child eating something at a friends that they would never try at home? Case and point.!!!
