SUGAR FOR BREAKFAST?
Turns out it may be true. Studies have shown that more and more kids are starting their day with a sugar rush. Try these strategies to cut it down.
Making a smoothie? Or yogurt parfait? Try using half plain yogurt with half sweetened . They probably wont know the difference as you gradually add more fruit and less “flavoring”.
Check that cereal box for sugar content and try for less than 5 grams. Or try letting them help you make your own granola and sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of sugar or just some honey and cinnamon.
Remember breakfast can be anything. Just try to include food groups. Try frozen banana to give an ice cream consistency. Add avocado to toast or heat up some turkey sausage.
Keep experimenting and always try to include your children in the process. !!! Keep it fun and don’t sweat the small stuff. You can do this!!!
