Unfortunately, there are going to be chemicals in processed foods. Trace amounts of pesticides such as glyphosate are not uncommon to be found in many foods. Glyphosate is classified by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer as “probably carcinogenic” (cancer-causing) to humans. Monsanto, the company who manufactures the pesticide states that an adult would have to consume 228 bowls of cereal to reach the levels stated by the EWG as concerning.
The findings suggest that moderation is key. Feed your family a variety of foods to ensure a varied amount of nutrients and limit the amount of chemicals found in a single food source. The EWG published a full list of the offenders and the levels on their site here. https://www.ewg.org/childrenshealth/glyphosateincereal/
Do your best to stay away from processed foods . Always read your labels , and wash open fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
