SHOULD YOU SOAK YOUR BEANS?

Ever heard of soaking your beans before you use them? Why is that?

Well, plants are made up of lectin (proteins) to help them fight off invaders.  Some sources like to say that they are making us sick.  While it is true that beans can cause digestive issues in some, there is no evidence of them causing any other ailments.   Be sure to soak your beans for at least  5 hours before cooking and then rinse, then boil.   If your beans are canned , no worries, they are already cooked.  Beans and whole grains are some of the healthiest foods and combining the two gives you the perfect protein full of essential amino-acids.
